Hand engraving is a process by which a highly skilled artisan makes decorative cuts into metal. The tools used for this are like tiny chisels and must be kept very sharp and at precise angles to product the shiny cuts.
Milgrain, sometimes spelled millgrain, is a technique of creating rows of tiny bead-like decorations on metal. There are various ways of creating this look, but the most common is using a milgrain tool. These tools have a tiny wheel with a reverse of the shape and size of the beads desired. The wheel is rolled skillfully along the metal, creating indentions that create the bead shape.

We will give you an estimate for how long the custom process will take according to the particulars of the project. Generally, 6-8 weeks, but sometimes shorter deadlines can be accommodated. Note that some gemstones are one-of-a-kind and we may need to find a substitute with one that is different, but that you love.
