Christian Hassell Bio
Christian Hassell believes in the power of always improving. He earned his BFA summa cum laude from East Carolina University in 2024, where he served as a Metals Assistant and a CAD Modeling Assistant from 2023 to 2024, and studied enameling during a semester abroad through the Italy Intensives program with Linda Darty. He has continued building his craft through the Keum-Boo Workshop with Mi-sook Hur (2023) and the Hammer Forging Workshop with Timothy Lazure (2021).
He entered the jewelry industry and started working at Jewelsmith in 2025, and loves working alongside the team of talented designers and goldsmiths in the collaborative environment. He envisions becoming a greater goldsmith and standing among his peers. Graduating summa cum laude remains his biggest accomplishment so far.
He has a passion for the creative process in jewelry and designing visually interesting pieces. On the side, he also enjoys playing guitar and hunting for vintage clothing. His favorite gemstone is tanzanite, because of its color-shifting properties when viewed from different angles.
