Bongsang “Bon” Cho
Designer + Goldsmith + Casting Specialist
Bongsang "Bon" Cho was born in South Korea, where he earned his BFA from Hanyang University in Ansan City, Kyonggi-Do, in 2005. He has worked in the jewelry industry since 2005 and came to the US in 2006, attending Montgomery College in Maryland, where he received the Morris Graff Scholarship. While studying there, he worked for Studio Namu and gained practical jewelry making experience. He went on to earn his MFA from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in 2012, supported by a SCAD Honors Award Scholarship, and in 2023 completed Advanced Stone Setting training at the New Approach School for Jewelers.
Bon's work has earned national recognition, including the Artistic Expression Award at the American Craft Exposition in Chicago (2015), the Best of Show Award at the Washington Craft Show (2014), and the Excellence in Contemporary Art Award at the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival (2013 to 2014), among other honors from SNAG, MJSA, and NICHE.
He joined the Jewelsmith team in 2021. When he's not creating jewelry, he enjoys playing tennis and walking with his wife and rescue dog, Kami. He's fluent in both English and Korean.
