Vintage Jewelsmith Consignment Program FAQ
Own a piece of Jewelsmith Herstory with an original Jewelsmith designed and handcrafted piece. Many are also originally designed by our beloved founder, Linda McGill. Our pieces withstand the test of time, with classic design and meticulous craftsmanship, which allows us to welcome them home again and into your home to adorn you in its next life. This collection is consistent with our commitment to sustainability. Each piece is carefully chosen, thoroughly assessed, inspected and cleaned to be sure it’s authentic and in as-new condition. Just like our brand new pieces, we stand behind our workmanship and warranty them the same.
If you are interested in selling your own Jewelsmith pieces through our consignment program, here are some frequently asked questions to get you started.
What items are eligible for the Vintage Jewelsmith Consignment Program?
Not all items are suitable for the program. We accept Jewelsmith designed and created jewelry. Each item is evaluated individually. Some factors we consider are the condition of the piece, its age, the current fashion trends and the space available in our inventory. If the item contains diamonds or gemstones, they must be natural (not lab grown), Jewelsmith curated gemstones. We generally do not accept chains for consignment, but may make an exception depending on the contition, style and original date of purchase. If the chain is accepted, it will only be sold with the consigned pendant.
How long are the items held on consignment?
We begin with 6 months. If the item fails to sell within that time, we will either return it to you or offer you more time based on space availability. We may also recommend price changes based on current market factors.
How much will I get for my jewelry if it sells?
That, of course, depends on the jewelry itself. As mentioned above, pricing is based on many factors. We will evaluate each piece individually and present you with an offer for consignment taking all of these factors into account. Our standard split is 60/40 of the consignment price.
How do I receive the money?
You have two choices. You may elect to receive a check 30 days after the item sells, or you may take a store credit with a bonus of 25%. For example: if your consignment offer was $500 and your item sold, you could elect to take a store credit for $625 or receive a check for $500.
